The word is out, the Beta version of the Sharepont Server 2010 is available for download.

When you try to use the RSS Viewer webpart that is provided OOTB with MOSS, you will have problems using it if theres a proxy in the way of your access to the web.
But, there is hope . . .
You will have to work a bit on your site Web.Config file, but it is worth it.

So, the solution:

In your sites web.config add the following information.

“<identity impersonate=”true” userName=”Domain\UserName” password=”Password” />”

and

“  <system.net>
  <defaultProxy useDefaultCredentials=”true” enabled=”true”>
 <proxy usesystemdefault=”true” proxyaddress=http://proxyaddress:port bypassonlocal=”true” />
  </defaultProxy>
  </system.net>”

and that’s it, it should get you going to overcome those annoying proxy errors.

You might have had some problems using the ListView in Sharepoint, either directly or using Smartpart.
Problem: You must have the .NET 3.5 installed to use ListView. the error might be:
“Unknown server tag ‘asp:ListView’”
Solution: add the following labels to your site web.config:

It has been a while since I worked on a Intranet Project, something I really like. Specially this one were I am able to telive my days of Sharepoint Portal Server 2003, because I will have to migrate the existing Intranet to a MOSS environment.
So to change a bit of my last contexts, this time is an Intranet, with a migration from SPS 2003.

I haven’t posted in a long time, mostly due to two reasons, holidays and my latest project.

Yesterday has been launched my latest project: www.culturaonline.pt.

It is a Sharepoint 2007 website, with so many integrations and the functionality of mobile channel.

It was a very demanding project, but it is a great joy to see him go live.

The migration process usually is done from WSS to MOSS, but once in a while there is the need to do the opposite, so what should you do?

First of all you need to be careful with the features of MOSS that don’t exist in WSS, so a good option is to deactivate them before trying to do a Backup or Export.

This can result in problems with your site, so the best thing is to insure that everything works with the MOSS features deactivated, before migrating to WSS.
